    Brook-Falls has been serving the community for over 30 years. Drs. Bloss and Follett purchased the hospital in March of 2007. The building was entirely remodeled and state of the art equipment purchased.

    When Drs. Bloss and Follett purchased the clinic, the name was changed to Brook-Falls Veterinary Hospital & Exotic Care, Inc, to reflect the new class of patients seen - Exotics! This includes birds, reptiles, rabbits, ferrets, guinea pigs, rodents, and a few frogs!

    We use electronic medical records in our hospital. Records are always available at the click of a button and can be e-mailed to specialists easily. Pet owners can access their pet's medical information using pet portals on our website.

    In our retail area we carry Chip n Chew bird toys made by CARE, Lafeber nutrian cakes and foraging toys, Harrisons bird pellets, DVD's on bird behavior, bird training and foraging, Oxbow rabbit treats, orchard grass hay, oat hay, timothy tunnels, and a full line of dental care products for dogs and cats.

    We have a complete in house lab that enables us to diagnose critical patients in just a few minutes. Our technicians have taken extensive training in laboratory procedures to ensure quality control. Here Holly is evaluating an avian blood smear.

    Our kennel area has a bank of cages on one only one side of the room for patient comfort. Your shy cat won't be stared at by the big rottweiler who is also in the clinic! Since the patients cannot see each other, they are also less noisy- a big plus for the cats!

    We have digital x-rays in our hospital. This allows us to decrease radiation exposure to our patients and staff, and quickly send the images to specialists for review. Digial x-rays also show much greater detail than conventional film.

    Holly and Jennie place an IV catheter prior to anesthesia. The dog has been sedated and a numbing cream placed on her leg so she does not feel the catheter placement.

    After an injectable induction drug is given IV, Holly intubates the dog so gas anesthesia can be given and the pet can be ventilated if needed.

    The patient is shaved, then a sterile scrub performed on the surgery site. She is then moved into the surgery suite.

    Our surgical suite is equipped with state of the art anesthesia and monitoring equipment. We monitor heart and respiratory rate,ECG, blood pressure, blood oxygen and carbon dioxide levels, and temperature. A certified veterinary technician is constantly monitoring your pet during surgery.

    Dr. Follett is performing a spay surgery, and Jennie is assisting her. We use sterile surgical proticols in our hospital, just like human hospital do.

    Holly gives the patient a microchip post-operatively. The patient is still intubated and slowly waking up from anesthesia. We recommend microchips for all dogs and cats.
