Veterinary medicine was a natural career choice for Dr. Waliszewski. The field prioritizes values she learned at an early age; most importantly, her grandfather's appreciation of the natural world and her father's commitment to only the highest quality patient care in his field of prosthodontic dentistry.
Dr. Waliszewski attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison, studying zoology and environmental studies before obtaining her DVM degree in 2006. She completed an internship in wildlife and conservation medicine at the Tufts Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine in Massachusetts, which included extensive work with local zoo collections and a wide range of species.
Since returning to Milwaukee in 2007, Dr. Waliszewski has been working with dogs, cats, reptiles and birds in private practice. Her more unique patients include those who visit from local wildlife rehabilitation organizations and the sled dogs of the UP200 and Midnight Run dog sled races. Whether at the clinic or in the field her patients are treated with the same tender care she gives to her own four-legged family members.
Time away from the hospital is spent with her friends and family on Lake Keesus and elsewhere in the Milwaukee area. Along with her fiancé, Chris, and dogs "Talia" and "Violet," Dr. Waliszewski enjoys exploring the Wisconsin outdoors.
