  • Jennifer Bloss, DVM

    Jennifer Bloss, DVM

    Dr. Jennifer Bloss has been treating dogs, cats and exotic patients for 20 years. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a degree in Wildlife Ecology in 1985 and a DVM in 1989. Her practice concentrates on avian, reptile and exotic small animal medicine and surgery. She especially enjoys working with parrots and raptors and loves the challenges of exotic surgery and endoscopy. Dr. Bloss and her husband run a hectic house with 2 children in elementary school and many pets, including an umbrella cockatoo, pionus parrot, lovebird, dog, cat, and a 50# boa constrictor. When she is not working at the hospital, she and her family can be found exploring the by-ways of Wisconsin on their Harley-Davidson motorcycles.

    Denise Follett, DVM

    Dr. Denise Follett obtained her DVM degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1991. She began her career in Janesville, WI and moved back to the Milwauke area for family reasons in 1995. Her practice is limited to dogs, cats, and exotic small mammals. She has a strong interest in ophthalmology, internal medicine and laboratory medicine. She enjoys the challenge of working up and managing complex cases. She shares her home with 5 cats, a lovebird and parents. All of them keep her very busy.

  • Nicole Waliszewski, DVM

    Nicole Waliszewski, DVM

    Dr. Nicole Waliszewski attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison, studying zoology and environmental studies before obtaining her DVM degree in 2006. She completed an internship in wildlife and conservation medicine at the Tufts Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine in Massachusetts, which included extensive work with local zoo collections and a wide range of species. Since moving back to Milwaukee in 2007, Dr. Waliszewski has been working with dogs, cats, reptiles and birds in private practice and volunteering at a local wildlife rehabilitation center. She is also a staff veterinarian for the UP200 and Midnight Run sled dog races in the Upper Peninsula. Time away from the hospital is spent hiking, swimming, canoeing and cross-country skiing with her lovely blonde Golden Retriever.

  • Lynne, Management Staff

    Lynne, Management Staff

    Lynne is responsible for the accounting/finance, human resources and inventory/supplies functions at Brook-Falls. Lynne helped the doctors open the doors to Brook-Falls in April of 2007. She also assists the doctors with patient care. She has spent the more than 10 years working with animals in various capacities, and holds certificates for veterinary assistant, canine massage and pet grooming. She also has more than 25 years experience as an executive assistant. She is married to David who is a customer service chemist for Bostik. They have a 70-lb specially- blended blonde dog named Jaxson. Lynne's outside interests include Badger football games, golf, bicycling, cross-country skiing and and travel.

    Holly, CVT

    Holly went to the Madison Area Technical College and graduated in 2002 with an applied science associates degree. She then passed the state board exam to become a certified veterinary technician. She married Rory in 2004, and together they have a son named Blake and a daughter name Chloe. They also have two dogs and two cats. Patch, an Australian shepherd; Gauge, a yellow Labrador Retriever; and Emmy and Oscar are both domestic shorthair cats. In her free time, she likes to shoot trap and archery and ride her motorcycle. Free time is scarce for her these days, but that is what keeps her hobbies interesting-they never get old.

    Jennie, CVT

    Jennie is a certified veterinary technician. She graduated from the technician program at Madison Area Technical College in May of 2001 and passed the state board exams in June 2001. Jennie has worked with dogs, cats and exotics since she graduated. She lives in an old farm house on seven acres of land with her husband Dave and two daughters Alexis and Nadia. They have a Newfoundland mix named Rufus, two cats - Chester and Jack, and two pigmy goats - Ben and Jerry. Jennie spends her free time playing sand volleyball and taking trips with family and friends.

    Jen, CVT

    Jen has worked in the veterinary field for 11 years, mainly in general practice, but she also spent time working at an emergency center. She has been certified in the State of Wisconsin as a Veterinary Technician since 2006. Her goal as a CVT is to educate clients and give patients the highest quality care in their time of need. She is married to a wonderful husband, and they have 2 sons. Her furry family includes one dog (Hiram) and two cats (Marcellus and Tutu). When she has free time, she spends it with her family and friends, taking long walks with her dog and sons, and playing sports.

    Heather, LVT, VTS (ECC)

    Heather is from a little Alabama town of Hokes Bluff. She grew up playing sports and hanging out with family and friends. After completing her Veterinary Technology Degree from Snead State Community College in June 1997, Heather moved to Birmingham, Alabama, to work at the University of Alabama/Birmingham and volunteered at the Birmingham Zoo.
    In August of 1998, Heather moved to Chicago, Illinois, to advance her veterinary technician skills in an emergency animal hospital and increase her zoo knowledge by volunteering at the Lincoln Park Zoo. Heather then traveled around the Midwest. She completed an internship at the Milwaukee County Zoo, advanced her emergency skills at the Animal Emergency Center, Milwaukee, WI, and participated in the veterinary internship program at the Animal Medical Center, New York City, in 2001. While in New York, Heather achieved her certification as a Veterinary Technician Specialist in Emergency and Critical Care (ECC).
    Since returning from New York, Heather continues to advance her ECC skills, and now is pursuing her love for exotic companion animals by working at Brook-Falls Veterinary Hospital & Exotic Care. Heather has presented lectures to Veterinary Technology Programs throughout the U.S. She enjoys her free time playing outdoors, biking, canoeing and hiking with her husband and their dogs. She still loves visiting her family and spends her free time working or playing with animals. Heather shares her house with her husband Don and her 2 Dachshunds--Jabba the Mut and Chocolate Chip.

    Donna, CVT

    Donna graduated from the veterinary technician program at Madison Area Technical College in May of 1995 and passed the Wisconsin state boards exam in June 1995. She resides in the Brookfield area with husband Jeff and 3-1/2-year-old son Colton. Donna has a cat (Lincoln) that she rescued, a fish named Blue and a rat named Jacob. Her hobbies consist of spending time with family and friends, traveling and shopping.

    Sarah, Reception Staff

    Sarah has been with Brook-Falls since April 2007 when we first opened the newly remodeled hospital. She shares her life with her family and fiance as well as her two four-legged children, a dog and a cat. She is now a full time student and is training to become a dental hygienist. For Sarah, working at Brook-Falls has been a great adventure because everyday has been a new learning experience. In her free time, she enjoys scrapbooking, spending time with family and friends, traveling, shopping and cooking.

    Ann, Reception Staff

    Ann has been a veterinary assistant at Brook-Falls for the past year. She lives in Wauwatosa with her two children, two dogs, and an assortment of macaws and cockatoos. When she is not busy with her kids and parrots, she enjoys boating, kayaking and scrap-booking.

    Jennifer, Reception Staff

    Jennifer comes to us from a very different background, having taught elementary music for the past several years throughout southern Wisconsin. The animal scene is new to her, as her family pets as a child consisted of four gold fish that, after a few weeks, found a bigger pool in which to swim . While we continue to try to convince Jennifer that we need a Brook-Falls Animal Chorus, she insists that her spare time is spent visiting with family and friends, as well as sewing, crocheting, and, of course, playing flute and piano.

    Ethan, Assistant

    Ethan is a new addition to the Brook-Falls family, joining us in September 2009. He is a full time student at the University of Wisconsin- Milwaukee. When not in class or working with us, he enjoys playing with his dogs and birds, hanging out with friends, paint-balling, kayaking and reading. He lives in Wauwatosa with his mom, sister and many animals.

  • Marilyn, Assistant

    Marilyn, Assistant

    Marilyn recently retired after 24 years on the R&D side of the medical device and pharmaceutical industries. She is thrilled to have Brook-Falls as her "second career" where she can combine her love of animals and her background in science. Marilyn shares her Hales Corners home with Oreo - a Scottish Terrior; Bongo - a hound mix; Kato - a domestic shorthair, and 2 parakeets - Mello Yello and Ed......White. All of her four-legged children are rescues.
    In her spare time, Marilyn volunteers as a greeter, docent and special events participant at the Wisconsin Humane Society. She is also involved with the Door County Scottie Rally whose mission is the health and well-being of the breed through education and financial support to Scottish Terrior health related research and STCA rescue.
    Marilyn relaxes by spending time at her cabin in Waupaca, traveling to Door County, hiking, biking and camping, Marilyn is a avid Milwaukee Brewers fan and has been a season seat holder for the past 10 years. Go Brewers!

    Stephanie graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay with a degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in finance in 2008. while working with animals has always been a part of her life, after graduation she decided to make it a career. She is currently a full time student at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and applying to the Veterinary Medicine Program. Stephanie has always owned exotic pets, currently she has an Angora Dwarf mix rabbit named Bun. When not studying or working she enjoys going to concerts, kayaking, and hanging out with friends and family.
